You can even use the loupe tool (hit the tilde key) to check your sharpening at print size. There is no default sharpening in aperture while in the print dialog - you'll need to click 'more options' and adjust the sharpening there. So I went back to the image with no edits in Aperture, selected the edit with PS option, and printed it from PS (no editing at all, no unsharp mask, no sharpen more, nothing) and it looked just like the prints from Lightroom.ĭoes Aperture 3 have a inferior printing system? Or am I doing something wrong? I got some improvement but sitll no where close. I figured that Lightroom did some more/better out of the box sharpening, so I messed with several settings in Aperture. I then did the same with my Lightroom 3 (beta demo) and the prints from Aperture simply didn't have the detail/sharpness that the ones from Lightroom did. I took three images (two from a digital camera and one that was a scan with a Coolscan 4000 of a 35mm slide) and printed them from Aperture 3 (trial) with no adjustments.
